In a nutshell, O Society is a place for political skepticism. There are original essays here as well as writings curated from trustworthy authors. In other words – as in geek speak – O Society currently is both a content creator and a news aggregator, with an emphasis on critical thinking skills as applied to politics. O Society is a virtual library, with philosophy and science and psychology and so on, any tool is fair game. Art, cartoons, jokes. Our mission and format evolves over time…
Please note this is a non-profit organization, hence the .org suffix at the end of our website address. We do not have advertisers to influence our content with shiny objects for you to buy. We strive to get as close to the truth as we can get, with the realization we may not get it or there may be more than one truth to be had.
If you are looking for sensationalism and commercialism and things wrapped up for you in a safe package like a sit com in 144 characters or less, then your time absolutely will be better spent somewhere else other than here.
Karl Popper’s take on the Open Society is the foundation upon which we build non-dogmatically. This means our take is anti-authoritarian. Information is fallible, as are leaders and parties.
If you like what you’ve heard so far, please do stay awhile. Make witty comments. Point us towards interesting things. Society is plural. Theoretically, everyone belongs here. We are not Democrats or Republicans or members of any specific party really. We don’t do -isms and infallible ideology fanaticism.
In short, we are not kooks. We are just regular people interested in not being lied to and stolen from by politicians and the system they have in place. Let’s talk about that, shall we?
