Donald Trump praised Hurricane Florence relief efforts in a video posted to his Twitter account. He said it was a “one of the wettest we’ve ever seen, from the standpoint of water.”
Donald Trump opened his speech 2018 United Nations general assembly the same way he opens his campaign rallies, TV interviews, and probably conversations with every visitor he meets: “In less than two years, my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country.”
The response from the leaders assembled in the room? Laughter. The entire world literally laughed at the US president – and they weren’t laughing with him.
Even Trump himself was taken aback: “I did not expect that reaction …”
There’s a half hour there of “accept my sovereignty” drivel if you can stand to hear it. Personally, after a minute or so of Trump speaking, my head begins to hurt.
I don’t know what to say.
Trump’s fan club will say “The UN is a liberal conspiracy. Trump is great. He’s trolling them! They deserve it.”
This is what our country has become. The greatest show on earth… except it isn’t.
People die and he says, “Water is wet.”
Are they laughing with him or are they laughing at him?
This is an actual topic of conversation in the United States.
I don’t know what to say any longer…
